Technology Assignment #2: How Technology Works

The technology that I chose to research is Bluetooth.

Questions:
1. When was this technology developed?
2. Where would you findthis technology?
3. Do you personally own a device with this technology?
4. What are the main uses for this technology?
5. Are there any other uses that you can think of?

6. Do you feel this technology will still be used in 10 years or be replaced with something better?

MY ANSWERS:

1. The Bluetooth specification was developed in 1994 by Sven Mattison and Jaap Haartsen. The name Bluetooth, however, is taken from the 10th century Danish King, Harald Blatand or Harold Bluetooth, in English.

2. Computers, hand phones, cameras (?), game boys, and many other devices use Bluetooth for one thing or another.
3. Yes. I have a game boy and a hand phone that both use Bluetooth.
4. Most people use it to send photos, songs, and/or video clips to other people using their hand phones. Some game boys use it to connect with each other, too.
5. Not really because I’m not very sure about what other things Bluetooth can do… I know that there are more things that it can doo, but for now, all I’m sure about it connecting one device to another.
6. I think that, someday, it will be replaced with something better that can connect two devices that are miles and miles away from each other. That will be cool.

Well, those are my answers.

Technology in Education – Assignment # 1

Questions:
Question #1 - How is technology used in education? (overall)

Question #2 - How do you personally use technology in aiding your learning at NJIS (during school, homework, etc)?

Question #3 - Does technology improve your education or create more complexity (therefore becoming a negative aspect)?

Answers:

1.  Computers are used to do projects, homework, important assignments, etc. The internet is used for research for all of those things as well. We also use computers for computer class in school (obvious answer, but it is one of the times that we use technology).

2.  I type up most of my homework and use the internet for many things that have to do with my                   education.

3.   I think that it improves my education because I use the internet for many things that have to do with school (homework, classwork, projects, etc.).

MORE:

Okay, A friend just reminded me about something:

I haven’t written anything about my friends..

My Friends:

Irene, Theresa, Alyssa, Michelle, Lordiclaire, Carla, Cheryl.

They are the ones that I can think of right now. I’m not very popular, but have many friends. I also have a few super good friends (not mentioning any names).

That’s it for now, folks!

MORE UPDATES:

Ummm… Never mind what I said in the last post…  Seeing as it will go farther down every time that I post, I will just post more and more updates about my age, grade, current pets, etc.

So, I’ll post again in a few days. Maybe I’ll make one more post today… It all depends.

UPDATES:

HI!

UPDATES:

There really aren’t many updates right now, except to say that I am now in the seventh grade, moving on to eighth in a few months. I have edited the first post so that it says the right things about me– so that the ages there aren’t from a year ago… That would be weird… Eventually I could be taliking about getting a job and you would think that I was crazy because the first post says that I am twelve…

Anyway, I will be posting more updates later.

Never mind that: it’s quite obvious…

Introduction

Hello World!

My name is Cornél VDW and I’m twelve, turnin’ thirteen in October. My birthday is the twenty-first of October. I come from Pretoria, South Africa, but I live in Jakarta, Indonesia. I go to school at NJIS, North Jakarta International School. My hobbies include horse-back-riding, playing The Sims II, and spending time with my pets. I have lots of fish that I watch every day, a guinea pig that I take for walks, turtles that I play with inside my house, and a dog that I take for a walk every day. I also have an evil cat who likes to scratch and bite me (but I still love him). I also ride my bike alot! I do my homework every day the minute I get home, and then I go do some of the things that I do with my pets. I take horse-back-riding lessons every Saturday morning, and I have alot of fun. I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading this and that you’ll visit my blog again for updates.

Well, see ya!
